Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United American. She was the founder of The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001, and shortly after, she left the company. Corcoran has participated in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. As of February 2020, she has made 53 deals on the show, with the biggest one being $350,000 in 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence Corcoran's mother was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's childhood. Her family was sometimes dependent on food deliveries from an artisanal local grocery store for free food. Corcoran recalls that her father was an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially after having consumed alcohol. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education and later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran was educated in an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite not completing several classes in her freshman years.
