Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American producer, actress and director. Her most well-known character is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick won an Emmy Award in 2010 and an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. After the end of the seventh season the show was canceled on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick's performance as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick received an Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian heritage. Sedgwick declares herself Jewish, and she has claimed that she attends at Passover seders.
